ende neu
ende neu is a small apartment, four roommates, a day of our daily life to be spent locked up within four walls with the only way out represented by our devices such as mobile phones, tablets, laptops.
ende neu is a performance created to face the challenge of the increasingly persistent use of technology in our lives: what drives us to leave reality and go to the virtual world? Why do we sink more and more into our devices to immerse ourselves in another universe? What do we find in the immaterial world that is lacking in our material surrounding?
ende neu is a journey through seven „valleys“, seven „levels“ of the soul that our performers cross trying to reach a new way of Being: the valley of Research, the valley of Love, the valley of Knowledge, the valley of Detachment, the valley of Unification, the valley of Astonishment and the valley of Annihilation.
ende neu is the scenic representation, through these seven „valleys“, of our contemporary life marked by our moments of Reality-Without-Technology and Reality-With-Technology, where the latter is shown without being accused of being the ruin of our existence, but rather a new cognitive tool that can allow us to access new „levels“ of experience of our external and internal world, so as to be able to discover new systems of relationships with our intimacy and with the society that surrounds us.
ende neu is a scenic moment in which the performers worked on their „movements of the Virtual“, being asked to investigate their daily habits with virtual access devices (mobile phones, pads, laptops, websites, social networks, videogames, applications) and bringing back on stage in the form of a concrete gesture the movements they made in their personal virtual worlds (as experiences inside the VR Room).
ende neu is the choreographic challenge in showing a positive path that can be drawn from the use and attendance of the Virtual world, as if it were a new philosophical territory of discovery to access new sources of thought, sensations, ethics of our time. ende neu is where the virtual world does not replace the real world, but becomes a new vital dimension of it, and perhaps one of our new primary needs of our contemporary society materializes: to make the virtual tangible, to make unreality real.
