Owwind
Augusta Gallery, Suomenlinna, Helsinky
2014
During a one month stay at the HIAP Residency in Helsinki (April 2014) I was struck by seeing so many people standing at the window looking outside, an attitude that perfectly portrays the difficult conditions of Finnish life related to weather circumstances. The title is a phonetic play on the circular relation between wind and window [owwindowwindow- windowwind].
The work is a window made with glass and wood in which the relentless wind is evoked by a continuous and circular gesture on the glass surface with sandpaper.
